I am very fortunate to be booked fairly often. Because of this, I cannot be perpetually open. I work this way to ensure you are not waiting beyond the listed wait time in my TOS which can be found on this site.

I highly encourage people to look through my portfolio or my Twitter page before commissioning me. I understand that people will want to commission me for my style, and while I couldn't be more flattered, please understand that my style is not suited for all characters.
That being said, my style is best suited for soft, feminine or edgy/dark/punk/goth characters.
I'm not not the best artist if your character is a sergal, protogen, or has multiple limbs/heads.
Dragons, depending on complexity, may cost extra or be declined entirely.

What Does 'By Announcement' Mean?
By announcement means that I will state when I'm open for commissions and how many slots are available via social media post on Twitter or Discord.

I am otherwise closed. This allows me to not have a backlog and get people's illustrations out to them within the time slot listed in my TOS.

The only other exception to this is YCHs which are pre-made sketches that you bid to have your character put onto as a finished piece. You can find my YCH auctions on YCH.art.
